Elizabeth Gibbs
Owner/National Certified Master Groomer/Grooming Instructor CPR & First Aid Certified
Hi! My name is Elizabeth Gibbs. I am the Owner and Grooming Instructor at Barkwood Grooming. My love for dogs started at 5 years old when I rescued my first puppy, Sparky. In my 15 years of grooming experience I’ve become a national certified master groomer, won as a contestant on HBO max “Haute Dog”, and earned a spot on Groom Team USA two years in row 2021/2022 (Top ten ranked in the country). After working in L.A. as a groomer to the stars, i wanted to bring back the environment to my hometown. Upscale grooming that requires skill, patience, luxury products and a talented team of Groomers. The idea of Barkwood Grooming came to me and has been a dream come true!
When I am not grooming, I show my own dogs in AKC breed competition events, teach grooming seminars, work with our local dog rescue “Three little Pitties” or am likely playing a game of Pickleball!

Hi! My name is ShaRhae. I have been a professional dog groomer for over 8 years. My love for art and dogs made me fall in love with dog grooming. My favorite dog breed to groom is the Portuguese Water Dog. I strive to be better in my career by challenging myself everyday.
My biggest goal is to become a specialist at creative grooming by mastering color and designs with dog hair. I started competing in 2022 and placed with a Bichon and a Doodle trim! My biggest grooming inspiration is Elizabeth Gibbs. Not only is she a great mentor, she is also a great friend.

Hi! My name is Kim. I have been grooming for over 4 years and mentoring under our owner Elizabeth for over a year. I love to groom all types of dogs but scissor haircuts are my favorite. My favorite breed is a Schnauzer. I have competed in grooming competitions for over a year, placing in multiple competitions.
My grooming goals are to become a better competitive groomer, learn cat grooming, and improve on creative grooming. I’m excited to be on the Barkwood Team and meet your pups!

Alyssa’s goals are to become a Master Groomer, to compete at an open level, master breed standard trims, scissor trims, and cat grooming. Her favorite breeds are Poodles, Labs, & Yorkies. She has been grooming for 3 years with Gibbs as her mentor for the last year. She is her biggest inspiration. She enjoys taking her dogs on adventures and tries to travel as much as possible. She fosters animals when she is able, volunteers at her local shelter and grooms shelter dogs in her spare time.
She always knew she wanted to work with animals in some way because they have brought her so much happiness throughout her life. Initially she wanted to go to college to become a veterinarian, but realized she could not handle seeing all the sad and sick animals, not to mention, needles! So, knowing these things, she searched for something else that would allow her to indulge in her love of animals, but in a different way. After worked at a boarding resort, she absolutely fell in love with the art of grooming. Making fur babies feel clean and beautiful brings her so much satisfaction and pure joy. Animals are her true passion in life.

Hi, my name is Kimi and I started my grooming journey about 6 years ago. While I love grooming all dogs, asian fusion style is my favorite. It leaves the pups cute, plush but also manageable. My goals include mastering breed standard trims and competing in poodle with my standard. I enjoy reading and bringing my dog to the beach in my off time.

My name is Marissa and I started grooming 12 years ago as a side job to help pay for college. I ended up falling in love with it, and it became my profession. When I’m not perfecting my dog grooming skills, you can find me on a road trip exploring new places, enjoying a good book, listening to Taylor Swift or hanging out with Benson, my standard poodle who also doubles as my grooming competition dog!

In high school, I attended a CVA program which really inspired me to work with dogs. My future goals are to someday compete in a competitive level. I love working on poodle breeds, Bichon Frises, and double coated dogs. I would also love to perfect creative dye grooms. I look forward to working and gaining knowledge with the Barkwood team. Hi, My name is Lydia and I am new to the grooming world. Prior to this, I worked in the medical field for over 22 years. It has been a big change but I absolutely love it! I’ve learned so much thus far and look forward to learning even more. My favorite part is seeing the incredible transformation of the pups and their parent’s reactions.
I love hosting my family and friends. Any reason to get together and make memories! Being a mom to my son is the greatest job of all. I am also a pet parent to a doberman and a pomeranian. I enjoy gardening and crafting.

For over three years, I’ve been immersed in the world of dog grooming, and my passion grows with every wagging tail. I have a soft spot for Schnauzers and drop-coated breeds, but I welcome dogs of all shapes and sizes! Outside of Barkwood, I enjoy exploring the world with my husband and staying active with aerial skills and dance. I’m excited to meet you and your furry companion!

I have been a groomer for 14 years, and it’s my passion. I love learning and creating artistic styles through grooming. Before I started dog grooming, I worked as a horse groomer, which turned easily into a love for dog grooming. My favorite breeds to groom are those with curly coats that require a lot of scissoring.
I love to ride horses, go hiking, travel and explore the world. I most enjoy traveling that includes horse back riding for 100’s of miles through wilderness. I love learning new things and reading books.
